Pretty smashed up, but apparently still working, Motorola phone found in Parkshore III. My husband texted the number on the screen to try to let someone the owner knows know where the phone is, but has not heard back. He charged it up in case someone is trying to find it. Please spread the word!
Pipe Repair Update
Thanks to Pam Luhn for speaking to the crew working at the intersection of Windsor and Poston today for this update:
- The original pipes are terra cotta
- They are 20 ft or so deep
- The pipes are 10 feet in length each
- Several joists dropped
- The pipes were filling with dirt so water couldn’t filter through hence the water backed up and eroded the dirt holding up the road
- They dug up road, hopefully cleaned out pipes and covered them in some kind of pvc
- Filled road hole with granite and other stuff
- Some thoughts were over the years heavier traffic came through, trucks, etc, that put pressure on whatever was under the road hence weakening the joists
- The area is scheduled for paving on Monday August 30th
Sewer Work at Poston & Windsor
The Charleston Water System Wastewater department is planning to excavate the area at the intersection of Poston and Windsor due to a collapsed sewer main. The work will begin August 12th and is expected to take about two weeks to complete. Residents will experience disruptions to the flow of traffic in and out of the neighborhood. There may be flag men to direct traffic and there is also the potential for traffic to be routed through the Parkshore building parking lot.

Road / Stormwater Issues
Neighbors – the City of Charleston Stormwater dept, pothole repair crew and Water System teams are working in our neighborhood repairing some road issues. You might have seen them near the intersection of Poston Rd and Windsor Dr. They have requested that, if you have a grated drain in front of your house or near your house, could you please make sure it is clear of debris on the top. Let’s all do our part to help keep the system working!
