Trash Pickup On One Day Delay for MLK Jr Holiday

The City of Charleston will be closed on Monday, January 18th  for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  In order to provide service to all residents in a timely manner, garbage and trash collection will take place on the modified schedule outlined below.

For Daniel Island and Cainhoy (Capitol Waste) there will be no schedule changes.
For outer West Ashley and Johns Island (Carolina Waste) there will be no schedule changes.
The Peninsula, Inner West Ashley and James Island (City Crews) will run on a one day delay.  For example, if your garbage is normally picked up on Monday the week of the 18th  it will be picked up on Tuesday.

West Ashley EIDL and PPP LoansCity of Charleston Business and Neighborhood Services will provide an presentation on the data received from the Small Business Administration on the Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and the Paycheck Protection Program in regards to West Ashley businesses.  Avondale Business District Formula Overlay Introduction and DiscussionLowcountry Local First has proposed a formula business district overlay for the Avondale Business District to be discussed at WARC. Formula business districts are regulatory overlays that are designed to promote independent businesses and exclude certain national chain uses, some local examples are the City of Folly Beach and Town of Sullivan’s.  It is also a regulatory tool that has been used by cities nationwide.
